Steaming Instructions

Do not apply the iron directly to the hat, the steam alone will soften the material, allowing you to reshape the brim.

Start by steaming the underside of the brim, then flip the hat and lightly steam the top. Place the hat on a clean, flat surface and use your hands to gently press and reshape the brim to your desired style.

Trimming Instructions

As our wool hats are carefully crafted, slight imperfections and occasional loose fibres are a natural part of their character.

If your hat develops small flyaway fibres, you can gently trim them with a sharp pair of scissors or snips. This will not damage the hat or affect its overall structure.

Size Adjusting

If you’re between sizes, use a foam hat filler for a snugger fit. The adhesive strip attaches inside your hat (wool or straw) and can reduce the size by approximately 1–2.5 cm. Use it all the way around or just in specific areas for a smaller adjustment.

How to measure

  1. Place your measuring tape around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).
  2. Bring the measure around to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears and position it in the centre of your forehead, or just above the eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to sit). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.
  3. Check what size your measuring tape says. If in between sizing, we recommend sizing up and adding a hat filler to your order to tailor the hat to fit your head perfectly.

How to store

We recommend storing your hat in our hat boxes. This will keep your hat clean and preserve its shape. Store on a flat surface, and avoid hanging on the wall to prolong life.
